Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has recently won 2 awards of regional information technology from ITP Group. The 1st one was the Cloud Implementation of the Year Award and the second one was Fixed Network Implementation of the Year Award.
The Director of Information Technology, Mohammed Al Awadi at the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector of RTA said that RTA had won the Cloud Implementation of the Year Award for making its own cloud, allowing flexibility in the provision of services for infrastructure for information technology, storage, networks, and computing. The cloud had enhanced the operational efficiency of the information technology of RTA by as much as eighty per cent.
He added that they had received the Fixed Network Implementation of the Year Award as they had upgraded the infrastructure of the network of Data Centre by hosting the service of disaster recovery. He said that they had also revamped as well as extended the lifespan of their network that had added to the performance, availability, capacity and flexibility of their network. These 2 awards support the drive for ranking Dubai as the world’s smartest city.
Al Awadi explained that RTA was always trying to use cutting-edge technologies for easing e-transactions and assuming a leading role in the global drive. Information Technology has now become a primary ingredient for modern life, fine living, and development for the people in Dubai. Winning these awards was also a tribute to the efforts of RTA for adopting the highest Information Technology standards and services.
