The rising share of wireless earbuds in the Indian context

wireless earbuds

Realme launched it’s truly wireless earbuds in the country this week, and it has been a hot commodity for the sales personnel as it has been lifted off the shopping counter proverbially or so to say in terms of an accustomed e-commerce sale in high volume to grab the earbuds. The earbuds look almost similar to the air pods launched by Apple Inc. Which were the pioneers in this technology but the cost premium that it covers has made it a whole different ball game, the new ear pods air by realme are available at ₹3,999/- only in India which a hell of a lot cheaper than what the Apple air pods sell at and it is also considerably low from other air pods in the market who took the technology from Apple and then made it cost-effective and suitable for the Indian market in a bid to control the market share which will determine the shape of the future technical development in the cycle as a higher cost-intensive business will not be competing with the technologically saturated market and move on to develop another product which can be again pioneered for higher marginal gains through the revenue streams and thus help create an ecosystem where one creative product leads to another on account of market saturation.
The saturation stage hasn’t come as of yet, and the duplication of this technology though easy is cost-intensive and with the know-all customer base that exists in today’s world, the people are driven towards cheap but reliable form of technology which these companies like realme and Oppo along with the likes of Xiaomi can supply this increasing their market share in the process and reducing the premium that has been traditionally charged on technical innovations based on royalty and as a motion of general perception as well.
